1. National Botanical Garden of Georgia

National Botanical Garden of Georgia lies right in the heart of the Old Town next to the Narikala Fortress and the Mother of Georgia Monument, from where you can enjoy zip line as well.

The garden were planted in 1845 and served as the Garden of the Royal palace during that time.

Sioni Cathedral Tbilisi bears the name of Mount Zion in Jerusalem.

It is commonly referred to as "Tbilisi Sioni" to differentiate it from several other churches in Georgia that have the name Sioni.

The actual church is a fine example of Georgian mediaeval religious architecture featuring nice frescoes, beautiful paintings, amazing work of art and the bell towers.

I would highly recommend visiting this wonderful church moreover, because it is one from few churches where you are allowed to take pictures inside.

It also has a quiet courtyard which really strengthen the spiritual effect in the atmosphere.

3. Lisi Lake Tbilisi

Variety of different birds and animals in Lisi Lake Tbilisi.

Lisi Lake is a small lake in Tbilisi, Georgia resulting from the Kura River valley.

The area around the lake is an excellent place to go biking, running, jogging or just to spend a good time unwinding. Also if you wish you could do a picnic near the lake area.

4. Anchiskhati Basilica Tbilisi 

People call the Anchiskhati Basilica Tbilisi - "Basilica of Saint Mary".

This is an ancient Eastern Orthodox church in Tbilisi, actually considered the oldest church in Georgia dating back to the 6th century. 

The church is small, old and the interior is dark so at first your eyes have to adapt to this darkness.

The atmosphere is very solemn and you are not allowed to raise your voice. 

Anyone is allowed to enter the Anchiskhati Basilica Tbilisi and they give you covering for your bare legs and a cover for your head if you are a lady. If you are a man remember to remove your hat when going in. NOTE: they do not allow photos inside.

Some people call the Anchiskhati Basilica Tbilisi - " Basilica of Saint Mary".

However, on the outside, the garden although small, it is beautiful with few palm trees and rose bushes and there you can take pictures and enjoy atmosphere.

5. Mtatsminda Pantheon Tbilisi 

Mtatsminda Pantheon Tbilisi is the place where famous writers, artists, national heroes are buried.

This one is also known as Mtatsminda Pantheon of writers and public figures.

The Mtatsminda and the Pantheon are considered to be a sacred place where one can go to not only observe the beautiful sites but also to reflect, as well as get closer to God in nature.

6. Flea Market Dry Bridge

Experience the local culture and history at the Flea Market Dry Bridge Tbilisi.

The flea market at the Dry Bridge is the largest open-air flea market in Tbilisi located around the bridge that connects Saarbrucken Square to the Deda Ena Park on the other side of the River Mtkvari.

The setup is such that vendors lay down their products on sheets of clothes spread out on the floor.

Most of the vendors are locals making this a great place to buy handmade artwork as well as get a taste of the local culture and history.

The flea market at the Dry Bridge is the largest open-air flea market in Tbilisi located around the bridge that connects Saarbrucken Square to the Dedaena Park on the other side of the River Mtkvari.

7. The Leghvtakhevi Gorge

The Leghvtakhevi Gorge with a narrow stream run through this area with most of the sulphur baths located on one side of it.

There are beautiful gardens as you walk towards the end of the gorge where you find a beautiful waterfall.

This gorge is very picturesque and romantic with its bridges where a lot of couples have put love padlocks.
